Having Trouble?

Below is a list of the most recent questions we’ve been asked about our online service platform and information on what to do when you’ve had trouble connecting. Click on a question below to get information on that particular topic. If your question isn’t listed, please contact us; we’d only be happy to help!

What video streaming service do you use?

Due to its wide availability and ease of use, We're using YouTube for both on-demand content and our live content wherever possible.

I'm using mobile data to join your service. What kind of data usage should I expect for one service?

By default, the service will stream at the highest quality available to you, which uses roughly 35MB every minute. For a 45 minute service, this is about 1.5GB (and please understand this is an estimate only and actual usage may vary).

You can force the stream to use a lower quality, which will reduce your data usage. Since we're using YouTube, you can follow the instructions here on how to reduce the quality. This website also provides some estimates on usage for other quality levels, which may be of some help. Please also note that our videos won't exceed 1080p.

I get an error saying "Video Unavailable" when trying to watch the service. Why?

This is most commonly caused by having "Restricted Mode" enabled for YouTube. This setting helps to filter out unwanted videos from appearing in YouTube, however it will also filter out all live videos, as the live content cannot be reviewed in time for it to be marked as safe.

Unfortunately there is no way around the limitation of running a live video on YouTube in restricted mode; currently live streams must be viewed with restricted mode disabled. We are working on finding neat solutions for this problem, so please check back here regularly for options.

If you have enabled restricted mode using GSuite Admin, please follow the instructions here for adding the Hope Centre channel to your whitelist, which may be a workaround for some viewers.

For viewers who have enabled restricted mode on their Smart TV's YouTube account and do not wish to change this, you may be able to cast the YouTube video from a device without Restricted Mode enabled. Try following the same instructions for casting to ChromeCast.

You can read more about enabling and disabling Restricted Mode in YouTube here.

I get a blank page when I click the "Join Our Online Service" button.

Unfortunately not all browsers and devices will run the online service platform. We can confirm that some older iPads and PC's browsing with Internet Explorer will not load the page. We recommend using Chrome v80 or later on your preferred device to join the online service.

If the online service page does not load for you, please visit our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/hopecentreintl, or use the YouTube app on your device to search for "Hope Centre International" and load our Premiere video from there.
