She is Real is a night designed to help women understand the importance of mental well being. We will be hearing from two incredible guest speakers on how we can be keeping a healthy brain and what signs to look for when things aren’t so healthy in ourselves and those we care about.

INEKA WHITEMAN - Dr Ineka Whiteman is a neuroscientist with 15 years research experience into the human brain. She gained her university degree with Honours from combined studies at the University of Oxford (UK) and the University of Sydney, and was awarded a PhD in Medicine in 2011. Her research specializes in the molecular and cellular biology of Alzheimer's disease, with many of her papers published in international peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at major scientific conferences world-wide. A passionate Christian, Ineka has a heart for teaching and communicating the beauty of science, bringing to life this amazing God-given gift that is our brain and demonstrating the incredible ways that we can nourish and harness the power of our own brain and mind to deepen our faith and strengthen our relationship with God.
MELANIE WOTHERSPOON- Melanie is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has worked with adults, children and families who were struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, parental separation or behavioural complications. It is a passion of hers to see people move towards their potential. Her work with children is through fun activities creating a safe space for each child.
